Financial Services Case Study (2 of 2)

Executable modeling in the design of a client/server workflow application.

Customer	A major US financial services corporation
System	A workflow based business process support project.
Objective	To replace a manual, paper based workflow by a process supported by document imaging and electronic workflow and document management.
Model size	25 objects and 72 events.
Benefits	Construction and review of the executable model revealed and helped to fix holes in what was thought to be a complete narrative requirements document. Demonstrations of the model were used to spread understanding of the proposed system within the corporation's business community. The validated model was translated directly into a robust server side design for the application. The project set new standards in the organization for speed of development and the robustness of delivered business functionality.
